about Cheer & dear

Cheer & Dear is an event planning company designed for the DIY couple and host. Instead of expensive, full service planning and design packages, I offer affordable consultations and A La Carte services to complement the planning you're doing yourself, so you can get just the help you need.

Whether you're hosting a dinner party or planning your wedding, I'll work alongside you to clarify your vision and bring it to life through creative and savvy solutions. I'll steer you in the right direction and empower you as you plan your event.

I strive to make event planning fun, collaborative, and truly yours. It's your event, and I'm here to help you along the way.

my goal is to help you create beautiful,
meaningful celebrations you can be proud of.

You could say my career as an event planner started when I was about seven years old and started planning all my birthday parties and family holiday dinners. The table would be perfectly set, the room decorated to the 9s, and the menu on theme. I’m sure my family and friends knew I’d become an event planner one day, but it wasn’t until I started planning my wedding that I thought about pursuing it.

Art and design has always come naturally to me, and in college I decided to pursue a major in graphic design. I received a BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University, and came to New York as part of a college internship program. I absolutely loved my time in the city, and in 2013 I decided to move from my small Ohio home town to the big apple. Over the past few years, I’ve explored a variety of creative and administrative jobs, all of which didn’t quite fit. But whenever an opportunity came to host a party or help a friend with wedding planning, I was thrilled and eager to help. So in 2017, I launched Cheer & Dear, and have since made it my mission to share everything I know about throwing a great party.

I now live in Brooklyn with my husband and two daughters, and when I’m not planning events you can usually find me spending quality time with them. I also love swing dancing, ice skating, ladies night out, picnics, cooking, church, and anything that involves wine or chocolate.

So next time you’re planning a wedding, birthday party or any small gathering, call up this sweet and classy Midwest girl. You’ll be glad you did.
